Billy Joel joins McCartney on stage
A big surprise last night (Sep. 26) when Billy Joel jumped on stage at McCartney’s concert at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island. The ‘piano man’, wearing his Hicksville High School baseball cap, was all smiles as he joined McCartney for raucous versions of ‘Get Back’ and ‘Birthday’ as part of the encore.

It’s not the first time McCartney and Joel are playing together. In 2008 Paul joined Billy at Shea Stadium during an electrifying final show at the same ballpark where the Beatles famously entered a new era in rock 'n' roll four decades ago. In return Joel played along with McCartney during the first concert at Citi Field, Shea’s replacement. Both times they performed ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.

McCartney returns to Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday (Sep. 27), the last of six shows this month in the New York area. The American leg of his One-On-One tour will end next week with two performances in Detroit. After that the tour will be heading south with concerts in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
