Behind The Scenes: Caribbean Pirate McCartney

Paul McCartney tweeted a short behind-the-scene-clip of his appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is released on Digital HD today and available on Amazon Video and iTunes. In the video the film’s directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg talk about how they experienced recording McCartney singing Maggie Mae.

The clip is part of a five minutes long video about Paul playing Captain Sparrow’s uncle Jack, in which, for example, McCartney explains that his character was based on a real uncle Jack; a family member who always liked to tell jokes.

McCartney was asked for the cameo in Pirates of the Caribbean by Johnny Depp. Paul accepted the invitation as a kind of favor in return, probably because Depp featured a in some of Paul’s music video’s through the years.
