Wild Life / Red Rose Speedway Archive Collection: What to expect?
Rumors have been buzzing around for some time, but now it really seems that this year the Wings albums Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway are the next installments of Paul McCartney's Archive Collection. As Roger Storno's blog The Daily Beatle reported, the release date is set for December 7. A brief overview of what we can expect:
Wild Life is the first album of McCartney's new band, then consisting of Linda McCartney, Denny Seiwell and Denny Laine. Almost all songs recorded for this album have also been released on the LP, so many extras of music can’t be expected. At most a few demos and possibly the single Give Ireland Back To The Irish, which was recorded and released shortly after the release of the album.
What might be interesting, is the video footage that may be added to the Archive Collection: the very first rehearsal sessions by Wings which were filmed at the time. And possibly there is some footage from the first, short University Tour and the Wings over Europe Tour, both from 1972.

Probably a lot more interesting will be the reissue of Red Rose Speedway. Wings has now been expanded with guitarist Henry McCullough and an incredible amount of new material was recorded at the time. The album was originally intended as double LP with a track list that was totally different from that of the final released album. Thus, there are many additional songs to be expected that were never released before. Even the original double album might be released as a bonus.
Also with regard to video footage, there is a lot of interesting stuff to expect: like the James Paul McCartney TV special and the Wings UK Tour, both from 1973.
