New album rumored… McCartney III out in December

According to rumors on the
Steve Hoffman music forum, a new Paul McCartney album will be released this year: an album written entirely, performed and produced by Paul on his own. We've seen that concept twice before, in 1970 and 1980. And the supposed album title is McCartney III. That really does sound promising!

Three different sources report that the album will be released on December 11th and that the release will be officially announced in about three weeks, mid-October. There is also speculation that the announcement will be accompanied by the release of a lead single. The rumors are supported by the fact that the website domain for mccartneyIII.com was recently registered by the same company that runs McCartney's official website paulmccartney.com.

Also circulating is a photo of Paul (see above) in a recording studio in Sag Harbor, a town near Hampton on Long Island NY, where Macca spent some of his time during the lockdown. The photo was taken at the end of August and is said to be related to a collaboration with the American music producer Rick Rubin. But it's unclear if the photo is related to the new album, as McCartney III is said to be produced by Paul himself.
