Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Edition: First Images Revealed

The first images of the expected 50th anniversary edition of the Beatles album Abbey Road are revealed, and it’s looking good! As known so far, the album will be released in five different formats, amongst them, a deluxe box set containing three cd’s, a book and a blu-ray disc with 5.1 HD audio.
The new cd will probably be a new remix by Giles Martin, in the same way as the son of Beatles producer George Martin did for the anniversary editions of Sgt. Pepper and the White Album. A tweet last month suggested he had been working on the album:

The other two cd’s in the box set are expected to be outtakes from the recording sessions, but the track list isn’t known yet. Other formats are a double cd, a triple LP and a picture disc.
This upcoming new release was confirmed by Ringo Starr last week, an official announcement is expected tomorrow, August 8, exactly fifty years after the photoshoot of the famous cover. The 50th anniversary edition will be released on September 27.
