Introducing: The Hot City Horns

Ever wondered who these new horn players in Paul McCartney’s band are? Well, here is a short introduction, from left to right: Kenji Fenton, sax, Mike Davis, trumpet and Paul Burton, trombone. Together they form the London based Hot City Horns.

The three piece horn section was started about eight years ago by Mike Davis and Paul Burton, who both graduated in 2008 at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), yes, the arts school founded by Paul. Sax-player Kenji Fenton, who studied at the Manchester Royal Northern College of Music, joined them later.

They play regularly on the London Club scene with various DJs at clubs such as Mason House, Mayfair, Bodo’s Schloss and The Arts Club. Over the past decade, the Hot City Horns have been performing around the world to sell out Arena and Stadium tours:
We’ve worked with Olly Murs since he first started gigging, including on three UK arena tours, and we supported Robbie Williams on his European stadium tour in 2013.

Other acts they performed with are Emeli Sandé, Madness, Jamiroquai and Paul Weller. The Hot City Horns had their first gig with McCartney at the Grand Central Station concert in New York in August this year and are now touring the world as part of the Freshen Up Tour.
