UK Dates Added To New McCartney Freshen Up Tour

After announcing an new live tour earlier this week, McCartney has now released details of his first live UK dates in over three years. The ‘Freshen Up’ tour will visit Liverpool, Glasgow and London in December.

The Glasgow gig will be Sir Paul’s first Scottish concert in almost a decade. His last visit to Scotland was in 2010 on the Up And Coming tour. Speaking about the UK gigs, McCartney said:

There’s nothing like performing in front of your home crowd, especially when it’s been a while. I can’t wait to finish the year on such a high by partying in Liverpool, Glasgow and London.  We’ve freshened up the show since our last time round and we are excited to get to play some of our new songs alongside some of the favorites.

The Freshen Up Tour kicks off in September in Canada, shortly after the release of McCartney’s new album Egypt Station. The tour’s name refers to “freshening up our show and playing some of our songs from the new album alongside those songs we know you like to hear”, McCartney explained. Tickets for the shows are on sale on Monday July 16.

The tour dates as officially announced so far:

Canada:
September 17: Quebec City, QC - the Videotron Centre
September 20: Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
September 28 – Winnipeg, MB - Bell MTS Place
September 30 – Edmonton, AB - Rogers Place

UK:
December 12 – Echo Arena, Liverpool
December 14 – SSE Hydro, Glasgow
December 16 – The O2, London
